Recognition of Teachers
In rural schools in Karnataka, India, government schools are the major sources of education. Yet in recent years overwhelming number of them have been shutdown due to poor management and growing efforts to privatize schools. Recognition of teachers and their efforts to improve rural school is a primary importance to help preserve rural school and promote rural school education.
In order to encourage teachers from rural schools for their passion and efforts, Samatva identifies and recognizes best teachers in rural school. Samatva recognized Ms. Anuradha, principal of Hadhinaru rural high school near Mysuru, for her dedication to improve the school.
"This is the first time I have received recognition, thank you so much," she said in Kannada, a language that all rural kids in Karnataka speak and learn courses.
