Education Symposium 2025
Samatva hosted an Education Symposium in Chamarajanagar District, Karnataka where we discussed the importance of education to Soliga tribal students (12th graders and college students).
200 Soliga students also received scholarships to further their education through a Samatva-ATREE (Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment, https://www.atree.org/) partnership.
Samatva members Dr. Siddappa Setty, Dr. Srini Subramaniam, the Chamarajanagar District Commissioner Shilpa Naag, the Tribal Welfare Secretary Nagamma, and six other speakers discussed their personal stories and the necessity of education to the students.
Soliga students who previously received scholarships from Samatva also spoke at the symposium, emphasizing to the students on the importance of a proper education and how they were able achieve their goals.

Over 300 students attended the symposium.
